By a percentage of assets under management charged quarterly in arrears. All fees, including fixed project fees and hourly time and charges are negotiable.

What is the minimum investment required to become a CLIENT?

What is an Investment Policy Statement (IPS)?

The IPS is an extremely important document that the client and the Institute write together which identifies the goals and expectations for investing. It is reviewed yearly.

What do you mean when you say you offer "unbiased advice"?

The Institute is not a stockbroker or bank, so there is no product sale for commissions.

Which is better? Short Term (Day Trading) or Long Term Investing?

Depends on your goals. Most people invest for college funding, buying a home, or retirement, which is Long Term (over 5 years). Short-term investors trade almost daily on the Internet or with a broker. We feel serious money is for long term investing. Only a portion of your portfolio should be invested for short-term objectives and usually in cash if the time horizon is 3 years or less.

How much money will I need for retirement?

A rule of thumb is, you'll need $235,000 of savings for every $1000 of monthly income. At the Institute, we strategically plan to invest and save with pre-tax dollars and tax efficient after-tax savings.
